Using good breathing techniques are very important during birth, however it is something I am trying to be aware of in my daily life. Did you know Tibetan monks believe we are only born with a certain amounts of breaths in our body? So medication and relaxation that slow our breathing down is thought to prolong life. I like that idea. I have started to set time aside three times a day to just spend a few minutes on slowing my breathing down. It feels so good! Just closing my eyes and focus on breathing. This is helpful at any time but is you are a busy mum with a baby and / or toddlers around your feet it is easy to forget to be in the moment. Focused breathing helps. Now I am not sure if it will make you live longer but it certainly slows down time for a little bit and it has made my days more enjoyable. Give it a try!
